I wasn’t planning to sing the praises of using CBD oil for sleep each and every night.

But here I am.
Talking about how much I love the holistic supplement when trying to get a solid night of shuteye is priority.
Well, I’m signing the praises of this natural sleep aid for one reason and one reason only…
Te lo juro.
No hype here. The stuff just works when deep sleep is on the docket.
And I’d be willing to wager that you’d find similar results with the stuff.
But before we dive too deep, let’s take a look at what the supplement is and why CBD oil for sleep might be a match made in heaven.
P.S: No surprise, but I’m not a doctor or a lawyer. This is not medical or legal advice. This guide on CBD oil for sleep is purely entertainment. Always consult a medical professional before consuming any type of supplement. Oh, and read my disclaimer.
What is CBD Oil? A Beginner’s Guide
If you’re curious what CDB oil is, pay attention…
CBD is the acronym for cannabidiol, a naturally-occurring part of industrial hemp plants.
Hemp plants, known as cannabis sativa, contain 104 different chemical compounds. CBD is just one of them (Source).
Yet, CBD is so much more than just one of 100+ constituents of the cannabis plant. The stuff is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid around.
And by non-psychoactive, I mean it won’t get you high.
As such, many have found CBD to be beneficial for individuals looking for pain relief, to get rid of anxiety, and much more…
All without all the mind-altering effects of getting high on marijuana or popping pharmaceutical pills.
The CBD is extracted from the cannabis plant and then diluted with an oil, often hemp seed oil or coconut oil.
Popular throughout the health and wellness world, many studies have popped up proving the benefits of CBD oil to help treat a number of ailments, including (Source):
- Chronic Pain

CBD Oil and Sleep: My Experiences
I’ve always struggled to fall asleep quickly.
Normally, I’d lie in bed for a couple hours before finally knocking out. I’ve gotten accustomed to it.
Then, I’d plan to wake up at least 1-2 times during the middle of the night.
And this was with the use of a variety of sleep supplements.
I’d be in bed for 10+ hours, but probably only be asleep for 6-7 of them. Not ideal but not horrific, either.
After a cup of coffee, I was always awake and ready to start my day.
These days my sleep schedule has changed – largely due to CBD oil.
The stuff is basically the opposite of Modafinil when it comes to getting a good nights’ sleep.
I take two servings of CBD oil a couple hours before bed these days.
I generally fall asleep around two hours after taking CBD oil. And by fall asleep, I mean I can’t keep my eyes open for the life of me.
But that’s not even the best part…
The best part is I don’t wake up in the middle of the night anymore. Ever.
I stay passed out for 6-8 straight hours every single night.
For example, the other evening I fell asleep around 11:00 PM. I woke up at 6:20 AM and rolled right out of bed.
I was ready to start my day.
Energized as can be.
No brain fog. No need for a cup of coffee to pick me up.
After 7+ hours of deep sleep, my body is ready to start the damn day. No need to stay in bed any longer than that.
3 Benefits of CBD Oil For Sleep
After getting such good sleep using CBD oil, I was curious what the science said. I wanted to know a little more.
Why does CBD oil and sleep go hand-in-hand?
So I did a little digging. I looked at some of the benefits of CBD oil. Read a few studies. Geeked out.
Here’s what I found about CBD oil for sleep:
CBD Reduces Anxiety
Personally, my brain is continually churning when I’m in bed. I’m thinking of anything and everything that comes to mind. Often, I get stressed out right before bed.
With CBD oil, I’m relaxed and able to nod off without thinking about every one of my problems while in bed.
Because CBD has been proven to reduce anxiety (Source), which can significantly reduce sleeping difficulties for certain individuals.
Individuals like me!
Less stress and worry makes it far easier to actually fall asleep.
CBD as a Stabilizer
CBD oil has the ability to stimulate the endocannabinoid system, which in turn, plays a huge role in monitoring the sleep patterns in your body (Source).
Aka this system helps regulate and stabilize how you sleep.
As such, CBD oil often helps user sleep for longer periods undisrupted. For me, this means not waking up in the middle of the night for 7-8+ straight hours.
Once we get more REM sleep, we often feel sensations of increased alertness and energy during the day.
Another huge CBD oil benefit.
CBD Oil and Sleep Apnea
The studies on CBD oil and sleep apnea aren’t as common as the ones showing anxiety-fighting benefits, but they’re still out there.
CBD oil has been proven to dramatically reduce sleep apnea symptoms in certain patients (Source).
This ensures individuals are able to stay asleep longer than ever before when taking CBD oil.
Because sleep apnea causes people to wake up at night. The ailment ensures those suffering wake up in the middle of the night due to erratic breathing patterns.
Personally, I’ve yet to find a single downside or CBD oil side effect.
Generally, CBD oil is considered to be safe and is sold as an over-the-counter supplement.
This is not a pharmaceutical drug or an illegal drug. CBD oil is a holistic health supplement.
Occasionally, users have reported dizziness at high dosages.
A few people have also reported low-blood pressure. However, this is fairly uncommon.
How to Dose CBD Oil For Sleeping
Dosing CBD oil is relatively simple, especially if you’re using the supplement as a sleep aid.
Currently, I’m using Sadaidee Good Vibes CBD Oil.
The stuff is damn good and I couldn’t be happier with the product.
I take two droppers before bed every single night.
This is considered a double dose, but I also weigh 205 lb. and workout consistently.
I didn’t notice many effects on a single serving, but the double dose hits me like a brick and my sleep has been amazing.
Generally, I believe most individuals will need 1-3 servings before bed to get the best benefits.
How much you need will probably be determined by your weight more than anything else.
