What Is Modafinil? A Beginner’s Guide
What is Modafinil? Well…I glanced at my phone. 10 p.m. had quickly snuck up on me. Maybe snuck up wasn’t the best choice of words. I had been working since 9:30 this morning. It didn’t feel like a lot of time went by. While I’m not sure if I remember to eat lunch, I did bill $225 worth of client work and published articles on two different niche sites.
To say it was a productive day would be an understatement. To say I could produce that much content without Modafinil would be a lie.
A Beginner’s Guide to Modafinil
Before we dive into what is Modafinil and why you should care, I want you to think back. Imagine the last time you had a big project or proposal due at work or a big paper due at school.
P.S.: This is not medical advice. I am not a doctor or medical professional. Always consult a doctor before taking any prescription drugs. And make sure to read our terms and condition page.
Did you ever feel sluggish while finishing up the project?
Did you occasionally feel like pumping out another proposal or finishing up the homework assignment would be worse than death itself?
Have you ever struggled to find the focus needed to finish an important task?
We’re all human. And while the robots are coming, they certainly aren’t here yet. You still have work to get done. Your boss doesn’t care that you’re having an “off-day” today. He only cares if you hit quota this month. Your professor doesn’t care how hungover you are on Sunday morning. He cares whether you turn in your mid-term paper on time.
Modafinil to the Rescue
Now imagine tripling your productivity at work. Think about only having to do your homework one day a week for a few hours. I’m not here to sell you rainbows and fairytales. The mainstream media does a good enough job of that.
There is no such thing as a “Limitless” drug. Modafinil definitely has limits. You won’t go from borderline incompetent to Albert Einstein by popping a pill one day. No drug can cure idiocracy – yet. Here’s what I can tell you:
If you decide to take Modafinil, your life will improve. Your productivity will increase. You’ll feel a level of focus you haven’t ever felt before (unless you’ve taken Adderall without a prescription at high doses). You’ll feel like you can conquer every single task on your to-do list with time to spare.
It’s a great feeling. So what is Modafinil exactly?
My Experience With Modafinil
It’s a drug. A nootropic. A smart drug to be exact.
From a medical definition standpoint, Modafinil is an oral drug created to promote wakefulness in patients with excessive sleepiness or shift work sleep disorder. Modafinil increases focus by stimulating the brain. Exactly how Modafinil stimulates the brain is unknown.
For all intents and purposes of this article, Modafinil is a smart drug used to increase productivity and focus. Classified as a nootropic, Internet marketers have been raving about the pill for years now. Yeah, the guys who bring in tens of thousands of dollars a day use Modafinil all the time.
Why all the hype? Why do nearly 75% of online entrepreneurs pop Modafinil on occasion (if not, on a regular basis)?
I’ve been taking Modafinil for nearly two years now. Normally, I can work really hard for 3-5 hours before my creative side sends a big “F*ck you” to my brain and let’s him know I’m about done for the day. A man can only write so much.
On a day I pop a Modafinil, that signal never comes. No signals really come. The focus, creativity, and energy lasts all damn day. Normally, I work for 8-12 hours straight when I take Modafinil. No real breaks. No drops in energy or focus.
I forget about food. My hormones cease to rage. The only thing on my mind is the task at hand. And the only task at hand when I decide to use Modafinil is making that moula and the guap.
How I Take Modafinil
While the benefits of Modafinil are great, you have to be careful with the stuff. It’s a prescription drug. This isn’t some shit you can go pick up at GNC or Walgreens. Hell, you can’t even order Modafinil on Amazon. It’s actually a pain in the ass to get your hands on Modafinil. (We detailed where you can get it in this article.)
That’s how you know it works! This means you ABSOLUTELY must cycle Modafinil correctly. If you take this smart drug every day, you can hurt yourself. I tried taking it seven days a week. I looked and felt like ass the week after. There are side effects.
If you use it wisely, you’ll become more productive than you ever have before. And you won’t have a single issue with any side effects that come from reliance on a prescription drug.
Through trial and a lot of error, I found a rhythm with Modafinil that works well for my body. I take Modafinil 1-2 times a week during a normal workweek. I try to spread these days out by at least a few days.
On days I take Modafinil, I make an attempt to get up before 8 am. I immediately hit the gym and then eat a huge breakfast. Then I take Modafinil and hop in the shower.
Modafinil takes about an hour to an hour and a half to really kick in. Once I hop out of the shower, my brain is starting to fire on all cylinders. I’m mentally thinking about my tasks for the day. You feel the productivity flowing through your veins.
I quickly dress, brush my teeth, and pour some black coffee and a cup of ice water. I don’t want to get up for a few hours – so all my beverages come to my desk with me. Making the most out of my Modafinil hours is key.
And once I sit down, it’s off to the races. Music blares. Black coffee is chugged. I focus completely on my work. Email is quickly checked before it’s time to pump out dollar, dollar bills y’all!
Pro-Tip: I block Airbnb.com when I’m taking Modafinil. One day I spent eight full hours looking at apartment rentals in every city I’ve ever dreamed about visiting. Not exactly productive. If you have any websites you can spend hours on end browsing though, it’s best to use a blocker to avoid wasting your Modafinil time.
Who Can Benefit from Modafinil?
Not everyone should use Modafinil. Many people will have no interest in the smart drug. Nor should they. Trust me when I say – Modafinil is great, but it’s definitely not for everyone.
Who may find great benefit in occasionally supplementing Modafinil? Anyone that is in a performance-based industry that requires high mental clarity to succeed. Here are a few of the best industries or situations where Modafinil will be beneficial for you:
- Entrepreneurs: If you don’t work, you don’t eat. If you don’t grind, you don’t shine. Mike Jones knew all about focusing on achieving your goals. If you’re an entrepreneur, you probably do to. Modafinil will keep you laser-focused on increasing profitability like never before.
- Sales People: Sick of smiling and dialing only to get hung up on? Luckily, Modafinil will make you friendly and more focused than you’ve ever been before. My friend hit quota for the first time in his sales career once he started taking Modafinil twice a week.
- Students: You think Adderall is good? Give Modafinil a shot. I’ve yet to meet a student that prefers Adderall to the king of all smart drugs, Modafinil. I wish I knew about this potent pill while I was still in school. Doing eight hours of homework once every two weeks sounds lovely.
- Web Designer: Coding sucks. If you’ve ever designed a website, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Even my web designer friends get sick of the job after 3-5 hours every day. That’s why all of them take Modafinil now, usually 2-3 times a week for 8-10 hours a day. Then they don’t work the rest of the week.
- Writer: If you’re a writer like me, then you absolutely must try Modafinil. Working on my personal projects and writing $100+ of freelance work a day is normal for me. My output doubles on Modafinil days. And yours will, too! If you write, Modafinil is a must. Point. Blank. Period.
…And these are just a few of the situations that popped in my head! Modafinil can be used in every industry where high levels of focus are needed.
What is Modafinil?
I hope this article about what is Modafinil cleared up exactly what this “limitless” drug is or introduced you to a world of increased productivity. Either way, Modafinil isn’t for everyone.
I’d only recommend Modafinil to someone who wants to up the ante, improve their productivity, and ultimately – improve their life.
