Why Numbers Make Your Spanish Better

    Spanish Better

Think about it. You use numbers all day long. Even basic chats need them.

    You need numbers to:

    • tell how old you are
      • ask “how much?”
      • share your phone number
      • count stuff
      • say what time it is
      • talk about dates
      • buy things
      • travel places
      • meet new people

Know 1 to 100? You’re good for most real-life stuff. Plus, you sound way more natural.

    1 to 10

These are the bases. Learn them well. Really well.

    1 uno
    2 dos
    3 tres
    4 cuatro
    5 cinco
    6 seis
    7 siete
    8 ocho
    9 nueve
    10 diez

    You’ll see these 10 everywhere.

    11 to 15

These five are weird. No pattern here. Just gotta memorize them.

    11 once
    12 doce
    13 trece
    14 catorce
    15 quince

Use them a lot. They’ll stick fast.

    16 to 19

These look scary. But they’re not.

    ten + the next number

    16 dieciséis
    17 diecisiete
    18 dieciocho
    19 diecinueve

Long words? Yeah. But say them loudly.

    Check it out:

    Vivo en el piso diecinueve.
    I live on floor nineteen.

    Number 20 in Spanish

    20 veinte

    One word. Simple. Done.

    21 to 29

These stick together. Just like the teens do.

     21 veintiuno
    22 veintidós
    23 veintitrés
    24 veinticuatro
    25 veinticinco
    26 veintiséis
    27 veintisiete
    28 veintiocho
    29 veintinueve

Look long? Maybe. Sounds hard? Nope!

    Tens from 30 to 100

Learn these. They build almost every number from 30 up.

     30 treinta
    40 cuarenta
    50 cincuenta
    60 sesenta
    70 setenta
    80 ochenta
    90 noventa
    100 cien

These are your base tens. Super important!

How to Make Numbers Between the Tens

    Between the Tens

Know the tens? Great! The rest is cake. Just add “y” between them.

    y = and

    Like this:

     31 treinta y uno
    32 treinta y dos
    33 treinta y tres
    34 treinta y cuatro
    35 treinta y cinco

Same thing for all of them. Easy pattern!
