My July 2016 Goals & Plans

A great part of running a blog is holding yourself accountable. Making your goals public is one of the easiest ways to ensure you make progress and achieve your objectives. It’s like writing your goals down, but on CRACK.

Plus, anything that gets tracked and measured tends to improve. If you don’t measure the change, it’s unlikely there will be any change at all.

Thus, at the start of each month, I’ll be sharing my goals for the month ahead. I don’t expect much from these posts. Most won’t find them interesting unless they’re already working online or considering the move to location independence. That’s fine.

I’ll break down my goals and plans for each month. Then at the end of the month – I’ll show you whether I succeed or not. Failure is not an option.

My Goals

Each one of my goals will fall into one of three main categories:

  • Cash
  • Health / Fitness
  • Growth

The cash category is fairly self-explanatory. I’ll set an income goal each month. This money will be derived from online efforts alone. I’ll be freelancing and managing a variety of niche sites – along with this travel blog. Ultimately, I’ll be striving to make my income solely from my “passive” income efforts. Until then, I keep on that freelancing grind to make sure some money stays in my bank accounts.

Health and fitness is an important aspect of my travel lifestyle. If I don’t get my daily endorphins, I can be quite the asshole. I’ve stayed in decent shape my whole life, but it’s time to take things to a new level from a fitness perspective. And again, if you track and measure – results are sure to come quick.

The growth section will relate to this blog. I have numerous goals for the site from a visitors standpoint. I also plan to grow the YouTube channel, too. Growth also relates to personal growth items such as learning new skills like Spanish or Portuguese.

July 2016 Goals

So without further ado, here are my goals for the upcoming month:

  • Cash: I’ve set an income goal of $4,000 USD this month. $3,000 of the income will come from freelancing. The other $1,000 will stem from “passive” efforts on my various niche sites and Amazon. This will take full-time effort, but it’s doable.
  • Health: First and foremost, I’ll be focusing on continuing my rehab after microfracture knee surgery. I just started walking a few weeks back. So properly recovering and getting my mobility back is my health and fitness priority. I plan to join a yoga studio midway through the month, as well. Lastly, I’ll be taking a fat burner starting in the middle of the month. I weigh 207 at the moment. That sedentary lifestyle adds some weight on you when you can’t walk. I’d like to get down to 192 or so eight weeks from now.
  • Growth: Growing this site is one of my priorities this month. I plan to have 30 posts on this site and 30 YouTube videos up by August 1. This is ambitious, but possible with decent discipline. I’ll also be releasing a couple of t-shirts designs later this month. My goal is to sell one shirt in July.

Further Plans

I’ll be in the Kansas City metro area for most of the month due to recovery. I have no plans of leaving the U.S. until my knee is fully recovered and I can run and jump comfortably. I plan to be 100% by September, but while I’m in Kansas City – I’ll be focusing on my goals while spending quality time with family and friends.

What are you working on this July? What do you plan to achieve? Sound off in the comments with your goals and plans for the month.
